The 1970 – 1981 Camaro/Firebird doesn’t get the same love as the 67-69 cars, however it is still one of the great classic car platforms. Beautiful classic lines and timeless styling make it a staple. In modern pro-touring world, you can almost build these cars from scratch with 100% new parts. That’s amazing considering these cars have been out of production for 45+ years.
The Firebird has a lot of things going for it when it comes to cooling options. For a Pontiac V8, you can fit just about any motor and accessory drive, including the Vintage Air and March serpentine systems, without having to get creative with making it all fit.
Regardless if your Firebird was an original 6 cylinder car or a V8 car, this radiator will fit bolt right into your Firebird. For small block powered cars, it will fit with a v-belt, serpentine drive, long water or short water pump: it will fit with ease.

Completely engineered by us with a die formed aluminum housing, these fans were specially engineered by us to deal with your typical modern day problems: lots of horsepower, tight clearances, Vintage Air and the need for killer styling.
They pull over 1500 CFM each and look KILLER doing it. Not only do they move a ton of CFM, they add modern day styling to your hot rod. CFM alone isn’t the whole story. These fans were designed to keep the CFM from falling off when having to pull through thick cores and A/C condensers at the same time.
Many electric fans are living 30 years in the past and can’t handle the horsepower and A/C requirements of today. These fans will bring your ride into the modern day.
To make everything fit with your Pontiac and billet accessory drive, we specially configure the fans on that model to clear the trouble spots that cause interference problems on big blocks. Typically the power steering pump and the A/C compressor with serpentine systems.
As for cooling power, we rate this model at 100 HP less with a Pontiac motor than with a Chevy motor. The reason behind that is Pontiac motors are very difficult to cool. As much as we love Pontiacs, they are very difficult engines to cool. Therefore, we do not recommend using this model with more than a 500 horsepower Pontiac engine. Especially 400 and 455 motors. For over 500 horsepower Pontiac engines, use our model 9162-HD-1.

For fan control, use our RH-02 Wiring Harness. It allows you to run the fans at both and a low speed versus just an ON/OFF setting.
The RH-02 Wiring Harness is also great for v-belt cars with lower powered alternators. It will make sure your alternator isn’t hammered hard when the high powered fans go to work to cool your engine down.
