For the 23 years I’ve been building radiators, there are 23 years we’ve been fixing overheating S10 swaps. Whether it’s a big block, VW TDI diesel (yes, people really do that) or LSX swap, they all run into the same issue: there just isn’t enough room to fit powerful fans in the engine bay with a big motor.
What hot rodders end up doing is compromising and going with thin, wimpy, ratchet low-profile fans to make the radiator fit. And then they can’t drive their freshly swap trucks anywhere without it overheating. A/C? Not a chance it’s going to have the cojonies.
This LSX swap version radiator combo is made to fit under the core support. Not in front. This allows you to move the radiator forward, making a lot more room in the engine bay and room for us to put our high powered HPX fans on the radiator.
This solves ALL of the problems with swapping high power into your S10. And you don’t even need to drill a hole in your core support to access the filler cap. Though if you like drilling holes, we won’t stop you from that…
It has the correct size hose connections for a LSX swap, a steam vent return, temp switch port and the correct size hose connections for your LSX motor.
Overall dimensions are 29-1/2″ wide x 15-1/2″ tall. It will fit under the core support in all S10 generations through 2003.
