FC3 Controller App Privacy Policy

Effective August 26, 2026

This policy covers the FC3 Controller mobile app for iOS and Android, published by Entropy Radiator Corporation. It does not cover purchases made on entropyrad.com, which are covered by our store privacy policy.

The short version

The FC3 Controller app does not collect any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not receive your fan settings, your device information, or anything else you do in the app.

What the app does

The app connects over Bluetooth Low Energy to an FC3 fan controller you own, so you can read and adjust its settings — fan speeds, temperature thresholds, PWM frequency, and manual override. Those settings are stored on the controller itself and on your own device. They are never sent to us.

The app also downloads a small fan configuration file that lists the supported fan models and their settings. This is a public file served from content.entropy-ecp.com. Downloading it sends no information about you beyond what any web request necessarily includes.

Information we collect

None. Specifically, the app does not collect or transmit:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact details
  • Your location
  • Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
  • Usage analytics, crash reports, or diagnostics
  • The settings you configure on your fan controller

The app has no account system and no login. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere except to your own FC3 controller over Bluetooth.

Permissions the app asks for, and why

  • Bluetooth. Required to find and communicate with your FC3 controller. This is the app's core function and it cannot work without it. Bluetooth is used only to talk to the controller.
  • Internet. Used solely to download the fan configuration file described above.
  • Location (Android 11 and older only). Older versions of Android require apps to hold location permission in order to scan for Bluetooth devices at all. This is an Android requirement, not something the app wants. The app does not request, collect, use, or store your location. On Android 12 and newer, the app declares that its Bluetooth scanning is never used to derive location, and no location permission is requested.

Server logs

When the app downloads the fan configuration file, our web host records the request in standard server logs, which include the requesting IP address and a timestamp. This is ordinary web server operation. We do not use these logs to identify individuals, we do not link them to any person or controller, and we do not combine them with any other information.

Who we share data with

No one. The app collects nothing, so there is nothing to share, sell, or disclose. We do not use advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics providers in the app.

Children

The app is a tool for operating automotive cooling hardware. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
