For the last several years we've been working on a new and improved 1962 - 1967 swap radiator and after lots of testing, we're turning them loose into the wild.
Our new downflow configuration allows us to use a larger core and stuff two of our HPX-12-HP fans on it, for a total of 3600 CFM. Compared to our previous generation crossflow, where we could only fit our HPX-11-HP fans on it.
And now with CNC billet machined hose connections as standard.
For our BADASS version, we can strap two of our HPX-12-BADASS brushless fans on it that deliver 2200 CFM each.
The crossflow myth: it just won't die, no matter how many times we hold a funeral for it. This is a myth that started in the 1990s when most of the aluminum radiator companies started this non-sense.
The whole reason they started it: they didn't have the ability to manufacture their own aluminum radiator cores. Instead, they had to use what the OEMs had already available. Which were all crossflow sizes in 2 x 1.0" tube cores.
Where does this myth come from? Well, it comes from the 1960s. Back then, copper/brass downflow radiators were made with extra helpings of solder and brazing clad, to make a downflow radiator stronger. And even this was a marginal difference compared to a crossflow radiator.
However, with aluminum, it is 7000% complete non-sense with zero truth to it.
Heretofore, by official decree, let this serve officially as the 8,893th funeral for the cross-flow is better myth. RIP (hopefully). But I suspect it will rise again from the grave, Neuromancer zombie style.
This will fit with stock front suspensions as well as aftermarket front suspensions such as Heidts. For the upper hose, a 1990 – 1995 Eclipse upper hose is almost a perfect fit.
Like all of our radiators, it’s made with pride in the USA with USA made cores. Unlike most radiators, our cores are purpose built for high performance cooling and are not made using standard passenger car (PC) cores. All of our radiators are fully TIG welded, 2-rows of 1.0″ tubes, use heavy duty transmission coolers, no epoxy, a billet filler neck, brass overflow connections and a brass drain cock.
